︎ About

Yosr Ben Ammar Gallery is a leading contemporary art space in Tunisia, dedicated to promoting and supporting both local and international artists.

Founded in 2005 as Kanvas Art Gallery in Gammarth, it has played a pivotal role in shaping Tunisia’s art scene, providing a vital platform for both emerging talents and established voices. With an avant-garde vision, the gallery fosters bold artistic expression and critical engagement, encouraging new perspectives that challenge conventions.

More than just an exhibition space, Yosr Ben Ammar Gallery is a catalyst for artistic dialogue and experimentation. It embraces a wide range of practices—from painting and sculpture to street art and conceptual installations— offering artists the freedom to explore and redefine contemporary art. By championing underrepresented forms and innovative approaches, the gallery pushes the boundaries of artistic expression and nurtures creativity that is socially engaged and thought-provoking.
Committed to fostering cultural exchange, the gallery actively participates in major international art fairs and festivals, amplifying Tunisian contemporary art on the global stage. Thus, reinforcing cross-cultural dialogue and bridging artistic communities.

In its continuous evolution, the gallery has expanded its presence with a space in Sousse in 2019 and another in Bhar Lazreg, La Marsa, in 2022. This latest space is part of the Phosphor Creative District, a vibrant artistic hub that brings together creators from various disciplines—including visual arts, design, and applied arts—in a neighborhood with a strong industrial identity.
By organizing two editions per year, the district aims to democratize art, engaging local residents in cultural experiences and giving them direct access to contemporary artistic expressions.

Through this initiative, Yosr Ben Ammar Gallery continues to play a pioneering role in Tunisia’s cultural landscape, infusing new creative energy and redefining the relationship between art and community
