NACEUR BEN CHEIKH

Born in 1943 in Akouda, he is a painter. Over the past forty years, he has taken part in debates concerning the critical study of contemporary Arab art. From 1986 to 1988, he served as the director of the journal *Dialogue*, and from 1995 to 2002, he was the founding director of the School of Fine Arts in Sfax and later director of the School of Fine Arts in Tunis. In 2006, he became a professor of arts and techniques at the University of Manouba.
