NICOLAS HENRY
Born in 1978, he lives and works in Paris.
Nicolas Henry graduated from the École des Beaux-Arts de Paris and Cergy. He trained in the film industry as a director at the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design in Vancouver, Canada. He has pursued his personal work for 20 years, traveling the world to create a series of portraits of ancestors worldwide. "Les cabanes de nos grands-parents" (Actes Sud Editions) combines plastic installations and photographic portraits. He was awarded the Popcap'16 prize for African photography. Institutions such as the DuSable Museum of African American History, the National Museum of Immigration in Paris, and COP 21 have recognized the meaning, commitment, and aesthetic of his artistic practice.
In 2021, together with Floriane de Lassée, he founded the social and environmental biennale of the city of Paris and Greater Paris, Photoclimat, showcasing works by 40 NGOs and 30 artists from around the world. The next edition will take place in September 2025.
