Hamza Sellmy
Visual artist and entrepreneur, born in 1990, lives and works in Sousse, Tunisia.
Self-taught, he explores various disciplines such as painting, illustration, animation, and design. His work is characterized by a pop and offbeat aesthetic, populated by cubist-like figures with tired eyes and raw emotions. These often solitary figures reflect the tensions of contemporary North African youth, between loneliness, hyperculture, and the search for identity.
Founder of the creative studio Banjer, Sellmy merges art and design in fashion, communication, and visual culture projects. He incorporates elements of Tunisian culture, such as the local dialect and Tamazight, into his creations, establishing a connection with his audience while fostering intercultural exchanges.
His work has been presented in group shows in Tunisia, notably at Galerie Yosr Ben Ammar in Tunis, and in international publications such as Dune Magazine and Ancre Magazine.
