Contemporary Artists

ST4 THE PROJECT

After meeting and later reuniting in Sfax, their coastal hometown in Tunisia, the emerging contemporary art duo ST4 devoted themselves to exploring the potential of urban art and experimenting with its environment. Drawing inspiration from Tunisian urban scenes, they embarked on numerous walls across the country and took it upon themselves to familiarize the public with their distinct visual identity.

Committed to bringing an interdisciplinary and collective vision to both national and global conversations, the Tunisian duo ST4 the Project has flourished in multiple cities, including Tunis, Casablanca, Paris, the Netherlands, and Cape Town.

Following their first solo exhibition in Tunisia at Yosr Ben Ammar Gallery in 2019, the duo contributed to the District 13 Art Fair in Paris and the CasaMooja Festival in Casablanca before spending the summer in the Saharan village of Dergine, taking over several walls as part of “Geyla,” their first large-scale project.

From 2020 to 2021, they participated in the Invest Cape Town Art Fair in Cape Town and the Djerbahood Festival in Djerba. They also completed an artist residency at the Cité Internationale in Paris and took part in the group exhibition Glass-Hard at the Stedelijk Museum. Following this rich and fertile exploratory career, ST4 the Project returned to their studio in Tunis to mature and eventually prepare their next solo exhibition.

“Our vision imagines the artist as a social actor and pioneer of spatial and contextual potential, whose work must flow from and reflect their environment. Through the reinterpretation of public space and a constant source of means, our visual and spatial perception is reborn.
Our goal is to reinvent and reshape existing landscapes, diverting the mundane and introducing the imaginary to anchor a local cultural heritage.”
