SILENT STORM is a series of works that explores atmospheric phenomena and immerses us in an ambiance of disappearance.

The paintings focus mainly on rain and the sea. Mira Agdal observes cycles in their natural and pure form, revealing her interest in rhythms that appear like perceptible flashes within the natural processes of the world.
She is fascinated by all ephemeral meteorological anomalies: accumulation, dissipation, storm vapors and mists—moments whose rhythms can be at once dynamic and static. A reality difficult to describe with words.

The artist strives to convey the direct experience of these fleeting impressions and the ephemerality of nature. As well as the particular sense of freedom that accompanies us in the daily observation of the sky.

Formally, the artist’s works appear to be abstract art in its purest form. Mira Agdal frees herself from figurative dictates. Her creation seeks more to suggest than to fully represent something.

In engaging with the world around us, the artist seeks to communicate an impression, an experience.
She creates a specific atmosphere, similar to that which characterizes Asian sumi-e painting. Her art is economical in means. To realize it, she uses black ink, acrylic, and seawater. A particular characteristic is the attachment to monochromatism, which dictates all technical requirements.

The artist makes thoughtful use of the white of the support and a narrow color palette, thus seeking a kind of limitation that allows the unique expression of her visions. The complex nuance of black becomes both a compositional element and part of her identity.
She uses different tonalities to create depth in her work. She diversifies her compositions with the strength of brushstrokes, often without the possibility of correction.
Her canvases are covered with luminous traces, fading vertical lines, undefined forms, and intertwined stains, resulting from chance. All these techniques aim to emphasize the fleeting and delicate balance in nature.

Sumi-e requires strong self-mastery, while also demanding great naturalness and spontaneity.
It is an art of meditation and inner development that helps cultivate certain characteristics of personality, useful in life.
It is a constant search for inner harmony and an attempt to reach the foundations of the world’s construction.

The canvases presented are an inspiration to commune with nature. They captivate through their tranquility. The layers of ink, the impressive shadows, are not simply part of the visual beauty but a dialogue between human and nature.

Mira Agdal frees herself in her art to return to nature and remind us of its values. A beauty independent of human power, which endures despite external interference, magnificently emerging from the cosmic order and the constant collision of elements.
