MOHAMED BEN SOLTANE



Mohamed Ben Soltane, visual artist and curator, born in 1977, lives and works between Tunis and Montreal.
Trained at the Higher Institute of Fine Arts of Tunis, he develops a diverse artistic practice combining painting, photography, video, and installation. His pictorial universe, both minimalist and expressive, is characterized by organic forms, burlesque figures, and a particular attention to space, silence, and gesture.

His work has been presented in numerous exhibitions in Tunisia and internationally, notably in Berlin, Barcelona, Paris, Algiers, Montreal, New York, and Vancouver. In 2023, he participated in the exhibition Afrique – Amérique as part of the Festival Vues d’Afrique in Montreal.

Active on the Tunisian and Canadian art scenes, he is also engaged as a curator, teacher, and cultural coordinator. He collaborates with the MOMENTA biennale in Montreal and co-founded the platform Jiser – Réflexions Méditerranéennes, dedicated to artistic exchanges in the Mediterranean.
