MOHAMED BEN SOLTANE (B.1977)
Mohamed Ben Soltane, visual artist and curator, lives and works between Tunis and Montreal.
Trained at the Institut Supérieur des Beaux-Arts de Tunis, he develops a plural artistic practice mixing painting, photography, video and installation. His pictorial universe, both minimalist and expressive, is characterized by organic forms, burlesque figures and a particular attention paid to space, silence and gesture.

His work has been presented in numerous exhibitions in Tunisia and internationally, notably in Berlin, Barcelona, Paris, Algiers, Montreal, New York and Vancouver. In 2023, he participated in the exhibition Afrique – Amérique as part of the Vues d’Afrique Festival in Montreal.
Engaged on the Tunisian and Canadian art scenes, he is also active as a curator, teacher and cultural coordinator. He collaborates with the MOMENTA biennale in Montreal and co-founded the platform Jiser – Réflexions Méditerranéennes, dedicated to artistic exchanges in the Mediterranean.
